Joshua 4:1-9

What souvenirs or artifacts have you accumulated over the years?

• Do any of them hold spiritual significance?

God gives us material things to learn and remember spiritual things.

God gave specific instructions to Joshua.

• "Collect 12 stones from the 12 tribes of Israel that this may be a sign among you.  When your children ask in time to come, 'What do these stones mean to you?' then, you shall tell them."  Joshua 4:6-7

The ways of remembering are "among us" moments and mementos.

• We learn from the experiences we are reminded of.
• We remember as we share these experiences with others.

There are two reminders of our faith that will not fade or vanish.

• The Bible - God's Word given
• The Cross - God's Word kept
