Philippians 2:5-8; Luke 2:8-14

Last year, a teenage mother had faith in the church caring for and loving her baby.

God also relied on the church caring for and loving His Son.

“A baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger” is pretty defenseless.

God chose to be with us through a totally human experience.

Jesus came in humility as a defenseless child so we would know that we must come to God with the humility of a little child.  [Matthew 18:3]

God cannot do for us what we try to do for ourselves.  We are called to “give thanks in all circumstances.”  [1 Thessalonians 5:18]

Challenges of life are there for us to see the need to run to Jesus for His strength.  [2 Corinthians 12:9, Psalm 40:17, Matthew 5:3, John 10:10, John 3:16]

Come in humility to the One who chose humility.
