Isaiah 43:1-3

“But now, thus says the Lord, He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.’”  [Isaiah 43:1]

“Let us be grateful to the mirror for revealing to us our appearance only.”  [Samuel Butler]

  • as in the Potter of Jeremiah 1 and 18

Where does your identity come from?

  • any number of “others,” or…God

Who you are not…

  • I am who __________ says I am.

Can you trust God to be so personal that He calls you His own?

What does your identity in Christ mean to you right now?

If what God says is true, what should we be doing in this new identity?

  • “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  [Ephesians 2:10]

“I’m starting with the man in the mirror.  I’m asking him to change his ways, and no message could have been any clearer.  If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change.”  Michael Jackson, great singer…not so much a theologian.  Sometimes it takes more than me!
