1 Kings 3:16-27

Only God has more love for children than a mother.  You cannot be willfully wrong with your mother and be right with God.

Ways to Love Your Mother:

  • Verbally
  • Physically
  • Patiently
  • Attentively
  • Gratefully
  • Generously
  • Honorably

"Before I Was a Mom," author unknown

Before I was a mom, I made and ate hot meals.  I had unstained clothing.  I had quiet conversations on the phone with other adults.  Before I was a mom, I brushed my hair and teeth every day, and I didn't worry about whether my plants were poisonous or not.  Before I was a mom, I never held down a screaming child so the doctor could give him a shot in the arm.  I never looked into teary eyes and cried myself.  And a toothless grin never made me happy.

Before I was a mom, I never sat up all night just watching a child sleep.  Before I was a mom, I never held a sleeping baby in my arms just because I didn't want to put her down.  I never felt my heart break because I could not stop their hurt.  Before I was a mom, I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.  I never knew that something so small could affect my whole being so much.  I didn't know the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderfulness, or the satisfaction of being a mom.  I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much.
