July Youth News

july

As you read this, we will have returned from our High School Mission Trip to Chicago.  Thank you to all who supported this trip through your prayers and donations.  Your generosity made it possible for some to go who otherwise could not afford the trip, and for that we are very thankful.  Through your support, you had a part in their reflecting Jesus to the good folks of Chicago, and their growing in love and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.  God bless you all and thanks again for your ongoing encouragement and support of our youth here!

June Youth News

juneOur appreciation goes out to everyone who helped support our Grill Masters/Sweet Treats competition and Youth Fundraiser.  Your generosity gave our youth $720 which will be used to help pay for future mission trips, local and out of our community, as well as the weekly gatherings.  We had a huge crowd come out to support and encourage Olivia Thomas as she finishes up her high school career and heads off to Maryville University in St. Louis to play volleyball and continue her education.  We wish her much success and blessings as she enters this chapter of her life.  June 25th - July 1st is our Presbytery of Western Kentucky High School Mission Trip.  Please pray for Haley Cope, Isabella Tapp, Dee Allen, Hunter Harris and Jonathon Yates, as well as for Michael Milam and myself as we join others to venture to Chicago for our Mission Trip.  We will partner with local organizations to meet ongoing needs in the community.  During the week, students may serve at a food shelf, clothing distribution center, soup kitchen, children's program, or elderly care facility.  We appreciate your prayers of support for our trip and that God will be glorified in all that we do and say.  We will not meet in June or July to give everyone time to spend with family and friends, and to enjoy the summer break.  But keep watching for upcoming surprises that may be on the horizon.

May Youth News

MayFlowersPlease come celebrate our graduating senior Olivia Thomas at our annual Grill Masters and Sweet Treats competition and dinner on May 3rd at 5:15.  We will have a time after dinner, around 6, to remember all the great memories of how Olivia has blessed our church family.  This is also a fundraiser for our youth program, so we appreciate all the support you give.  Hope to see you there!

January Youth News

JanuaryThanks so much for all the encouragement and support you’ve given our youth over the past year, and specifically the past couple of months.  Six students - Hunter Harris, Dee Allen, Isabella Tapp, Haley Cope, Emily Fischels and Keelie Carter - attended the W. KY Presbytery Youth Fall Retreat with Michael Milam and myself.  It was another great experience to grow closer to God.  Four of our students attended Chrysalis #55 - Kaleb White, Ashlee Goodwin, Makayla Stone and Emilee Higgs.  After our fundraiser in November we were able to buy gifts for four Angel Tree children and sports balls for the Christmas Palooza event for low income children held at Browning Springs.  Thanks "bigly" for the $1002.00 you donated.  Our youth did an amazing job shopping for and blessing those children here in our community.

September Youth News

september

Our first fundraiser for the youth groups this year will be September 28th.  We'll have a  Soup & Sandwich meal with homemade desserts.  If you’re interested in helping out, we would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks again for all the support and encouragement you’ve given us for so long!  Contact Rob if you want to make something to contribute.

November Youth News

novemberThanks to everyone who contributed to our first youth fundraiser for the year.  We couldn’t offer to give them half price events, trips and other blessings if it weren’t for your generosity.  This one brought in $733, so thanks again!

Fall Retreat: Our West KY Presbytery Fall Youth Retreat at Camp Loucon is November 10-12.  The cost is $30 each.  We will leave from the Wilson’s home at 6 PM on the 10th and return around 3 PM Sunday the 12th.  We hope to have a good crew attend this always popular retreat!

Angel Tree Fundraiser: On November 29th at 5:15 pm we will have a spaghetti and homemade dessert dinner to raise money for our annual Angel Tree shopping. We normally choose the older children on the Salvation Army Angel Trees, and buy for as many as we can afford based on our donations.  Thanks so much for supporting our mission to bless those less fortunate, always in the name of Jesus Christ!
