marchMarch 1st is our Ash Wednesday Youth Fundraiser Dinner.  Please come support our youth and enjoy a meal of homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts, and plan to stay for our Ash Wednesday worship service in the chapel.  Thanks so much for supporting our youth!

On March 3rd and 4th we will host the W. KY Presbytery’s Youth Winter Retreat for 6th-12th grade students.  We will spend some of our time working on service projects in our community.  If you’re interested in helping out by donating some homemade goodies for snacks, or by helping to prepare our meals, please let Rob or Denise know. The retreat will last from Friday evening at 6:00 pm until Saturday evening at 7:00 pm.  Please pray that all those involved will experience the fullness of what God has for us to receive.

February Youth News

ValentineFor most people, February 5th is a day to gather, watch the Super Bowl, and enjoy the food that goes along with the event.  Several years ago a youth group decided that those in need of food should become the focus for the day.  Thus the Souper Bowl of Caring was started.  It has now grown into an amazing resource for food banks across our country.  Our congregation is once again giving all donated food to the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County.  We hope that this year our gift will be more generous than ever before.  Thanks for your support!

On March 1st we'll have our annual Ash Wednesday Youth Fundraiser meal.  Please come and show your support for our youth as we provide lots of homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts.  Also plan to stay for our Ash Wednesday service as we begin the season of Lent.  If you would like to provide soup, sandwiches, or dessert please contact Rob or Denise.  Thanks!

On March 3rd and 4th our church will host the Presbytery of West Kentucky Winter Retreat for 6th through 12th grade students.  We will share times of worship, prayer, play, rest and service.  Of course, we will also have several meals together too.  If you can help with the preparation of any of these meals, or by providing snacks, please contact Rob or Denise.  Please pray that we will seek God and follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit as we prepare for and participate in this retreat.

January Youth News

JanuaryThanks so much for all the encouragement and support you’ve given our youth over the past year, and specifically the past couple of months.  Six students - Hunter Harris, Dee Allen, Isabella Tapp, Haley Cope, Emily Fischels and Keelie Carter - attended the W. KY Presbytery Youth Fall Retreat with Michael Milam and myself.  It was another great experience to grow closer to God.  Four of our students attended Chrysalis #55 - Kaleb White, Ashlee Goodwin, Makayla Stone and Emilee Higgs.  After our fundraiser in November we were able to buy gifts for four Angel Tree children and sports balls for the Christmas Palooza event for low income children held at Browning Springs.  Thanks "bigly" for the $1002.00 you donated.  Our youth did an amazing job shopping for and blessing those children here in our community.

September Youth News

september

Our first fundraiser for the youth groups this year will be September 28th.  We'll have a  Soup & Sandwich meal with homemade desserts.  If you’re interested in helping out, we would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks again for all the support and encouragement you’ve given us for so long!  Contact Rob if you want to make something to contribute.

December Youth News

December2On December 9th we will be heading out to do our annual Angel Tree Christmas shopping at Walmart.  Anyone wishing to make a contribution for this may do so at our Fundraiser meal on December 2nd, or pass it along to an elder or Suzanne Wilson, or put it in the offering plate and designate it for Angel Tree Shopping.

On December 16th we will host the Youth Group at our home for our annual Christmas Party.  $5 Dirty Santa gifts will be exchanged with the intent that we’re not really playing dirty.  We will provide a meal at the party with plenty for everyone.

On December 28th we will take our Christmas Break road trip.  The trip this year will be a surprise!  We will let you know location and cost as we near the date.

November Youth News

novemberOn November 6th-8th we'll have our West Kentucky Youth Fall Retreat at Camp Loucon.  Please keep in your prayers all those participating and leading our time together.  Our theme this year is “Runaway,” based on the story of Jonah and God’s call on him.

On November 18th, we'll have our Angel Tree fundraiser meal.  Please come support our youth group’s mission of providing Christmas gifts for children in our community through the Salvation Army’s Angel trees.  Our menu will include salad, spaghetti, bread and dessert.  We will be doing our Angel Tree shopping on December 2nd, if you would like to make a contribution and can’t make the meal.  Thanks so much for supporting our youth and what they do here!
