September Youth News

september

Our first fundraiser for the youth groups this year will be September 28th.  We'll have a  Soup & Sandwich meal with homemade desserts.  If you’re interested in helping out, we would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks again for all the support and encouragement you’ve given us for so long!  Contact Rob if you want to make something to contribute.

August Youth News

augustThanks to all those who supplied the paint for our “Youth Room Makeover."  Allie Downey and Emily Fischels had the vision and inspiration, and with some help from Haley Cope and Dee Allen, the room looks new and fresh.  Take a look whenever you get the chance.  Vision, inspiration, and hard work have made the room look great!

On August 17th, we will begin our regular Wednesday night Youth Groups for Middle and High School students.  Our meeting time will be 6:00-7:30pm.  Our first night back will be our annual “Water Night” kick-off.  Please come prepared to get wet.  Dress appropriately and bring at least one towel.  Parents, I would have a couple of towels for your child to sit on unless you like wet car seats.  Also please put November 4th thru 6th on your calendars.  This will be the time of our fall retreat at Camp Loucon.  More details will come later, as we approach that weekend.  We look forward to a great new school year and all that God has in store for us as we gather to learn, to grow, and to celebrate His goodness!

July Youth News

julyThanks to all who support and pray for the youth here at our church.  We are experiencing the blessings of that support as we venture into mission trips, fall & winter retreats, regular youth groups and special events in between.  If you’re interested in supporting our youth in a financial way you can do so through Kroger community rewards program.  You can go to our website newfpc.com and find instructions here under the kids tab, http://www.newfpc.com/kids/kroger-community-rewards.  Thanks again for you prayers and support!

On August 12th we will host the West Kentucky Presbytery Youth Council overnight for the purposes of picking next year’s high school mission site, and planning for our Fall Retreat at Camp Loucon.  We will also be going to the Presbytery meeting at the Brain Injury Adventure Camp in Henderson County on Saturday morning, August 13th.  More details will come later.

December Youth News

December2On December 9th we will be heading out to do our annual Angel Tree Christmas shopping at Walmart.  Anyone wishing to make a contribution for this may do so at our Fundraiser meal on December 2nd, or pass it along to an elder or Suzanne Wilson, or put it in the offering plate and designate it for Angel Tree Shopping.

On December 16th we will host the Youth Group at our home for our annual Christmas Party.  $5 Dirty Santa gifts will be exchanged with the intent that we’re not really playing dirty.  We will provide a meal at the party with plenty for everyone.

On December 28th we will take our Christmas Break road trip.  The trip this year will be a surprise!  We will let you know location and cost as we near the date.

November Youth News

novemberOn November 6th-8th we'll have our West Kentucky Youth Fall Retreat at Camp Loucon.  Please keep in your prayers all those participating and leading our time together.  Our theme this year is “Runaway,” based on the story of Jonah and God’s call on him.

On November 18th, we'll have our Angel Tree fundraiser meal.  Please come support our youth group’s mission of providing Christmas gifts for children in our community through the Salvation Army’s Angel trees.  Our menu will include salad, spaghetti, bread and dessert.  We will be doing our Angel Tree shopping on December 2nd, if you would like to make a contribution and can’t make the meal.  Thanks so much for supporting our youth and what they do here!
