April Youth News

april showersOn May 8th, we'll have our annual Grill Masters, Sweet Treats, & Senior Celebration.  All cooks, whether you use an open fire or an oven, prepare to bring your grilled or smoked meats and tasty confections to be judged for the coveted traveling trophies of Grill Master Champion and Sweet Treat Champion.  This fun night will not only have an amazing variety of good food, but will also be our final opportunity to celebrate with our 6 high school graduates.  Our 2019 seniors are Ashlee Goodwin, Kaleb White, Makayla Stone, Cherdon White, Tya Clary, and Dy Kimbrew.  Please come and share in the celebration.  This will be our last Youth Group Fundraiser of the school year.  Thanks for all your love, prayers, and support!

February Youth News

ValentineFebruary 7th is the deadline for deposits for the high school mission trip June 22nd-29th to Lithia, Florida.  We will be working with migrant farm worker families.  This will be about the eighth trip in the past 10 years in which we’ve participated with other youth groups from our Presbytery.  From North Carolina to New Jersey, and from South Dakota to New Orleans, our young folks have served those in their paths well.  Please prayerfully consider making a donation to our youth fund.  It will help us cover the half of the cost that we don’t charge them, so we can send these young people into places where they can serve and share God’s love with those to whom they minister.  And please pray for these young people as they go through life and seek to know Jesus more and to make Him known.  Thanks!

Our annual Fall Retreat at Camp Loucon is November 9th - 11th.  Please be in prayer for those who are going and those who are leading on the weekend.  The cost this year is $35 per person and that includes room, food, and activities.  We hope to have another memorable retreat as we seek to know Him more deeply and love Him more dearly.

October Youth News

octoberYou may have noticed that we haven’t scheduled a youth group fundraiser yet this Fall.  We have decided to ask those who would like to contribute to the youth programs here at FPC to please do so in their offerings, as the Lord leads them.  We will have our annual Angel Tree fundraiser for the shopping trip in November and our end-of-year Senior Celebration/Grill Masters/Sweet Treats competition fundraiser. Thanks for your continued support of the youth who participate in our church youth groups.

On November 9th-11th we'll have our Fall Retreat at Camp Loucon.  This retreat is for the middle and high school youth of the Presbytery of Western Kentucky.  Flyers will come out soon and details will be included.  The cost for the weekend has increased somewhat due to increases in Loucon’s activity and meal prices.  We hope to have another memorable retreat.  Thanks for your prayers!
